On September 23, 2026, Avengers: Endgame, one of the most successful films in Marvel Cinematic Universe history, returned to South Korean theaters seven years after its original release, featuring additional footage of the upcoming Avengers film.

The new footage is a key feature distinguishing the encore release from the original 2019 theatrical version, giving audiences extra material that connects the ending of Endgame with the next Avengers film.

The re-release takes place seven years after Avengers: Endgame first debuted in South Korean theaters on April 24, 2019.

During its initial Korean theatrical run, the film attracted 13.97 million viewers and surpassed 10 million viewers only 11 days after its release.

The movie also achieved remarkable success internationally after its original release.

The film earned approximately $1.2 billion worldwide during its opening weekend and exceeded $1 billion in global box office revenue within five days.

By the end of its run, its final worldwide gross reached approximately $2.79 billion, allowing the movie to overtake Avatar at the time as the highest-grossing film in global box-office history.

The encore screening will allow audiences to relive some of the film’s most memorable moments on the big screen once again.

One of the most iconic scenes occurs during the final battle with Thanos, when portals open behind Captain America and the heroes who had disappeared return to fight.

Captain America then delivers the famous “Avengers, assemble” moment, which has since become one of the most recognizable scenes in the MCU.

Tony Stark’s final moments will also be revisited on the big screen.

After taking the Infinity Stones from Thanos, Tony says, “I am Iron Man,” before using the Stones to defeat Thanos and his army, ultimately sacrificing his life.

His emotional relationship with his daughter, Morgan, also became an important part of the film, particularly through the phrase “I love you 3,000,” which became widely recognized among Marvel fans.

The re-release will be available in several premium formats, including IMAX, 4DX, SCREENX, Dolby Cinema, and the new Infinity Vision format.

Infinity Vision is a new theater certification focusing on large screens, high-quality images, and enhanced sound.

However, the biggest draw for fans is the exclusive footage from the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.

Robert Downey Jr., who famously portrayed Tony Stark in Endgame, promoted the encore screening by teasing that audiences would be among the first to see exclusive footage from the new film.

Fans are particularly excited by his return to the MCU in Avengers: Doomsday, but he will play Doctor Doom rather than Iron Man.

His return has garnered significant attention because of his long association with Tony Stark and the character’s emotional ending in Endgame.

Director Joe Russo has also discussed the connection between the two films, explaining that the events of Avengers: Endgame will naturally lead into Avengers: Doomsday.

The re-release differs from the original 2019 theatrical run by combining the return of one of Marvel Studios’ most successful films with premium-format screenings and newly added footage.

It also brings back a movie that holds the record for the most-watched foreign release in South Korean box-office history.

At the same time, the newly released footage establishes a clearer connection between the conclusion of the Infinity Saga and Avengers: Doomsday, making Endgame Encore not only a re-release but also a transition and show direct connection between the earlier storyline and Marvel Studio’s upcoming film.
