On November 20, 2025, the Genesis Magma GT concept was unveiled at Circuit Paul Ricard, marking one of the most significant moments in the brand’s history and signaling Genesis’s entry into the high-performance market. As the cover was lifted, the Magma GT stunned the audience with its aggressive design and motorsport-inspired proportions.

Low and wide, and sculpted shape with dramatic precision, the car represented a new design language that focuses on high performance and luxury.

Its long hood, aggressive lines, and signature two line lighting make the car look like a supercar, unlike anything seen from Genesis previously.

The Magma GT sets a new precedent for the Genesis Magma performance line.

Luc Donckerwolke, President and Chief Creative Officer of Genesis, said, “The Magma GT Concept represents the pinnacle of our performance vision and stands as a symbol of our commitment to true motorsport capability. It isn’t defined by raw aggression or uncompromising speed—it is defined by balance. This is a car that feels instinctively connected to its driver, composed under pressure, and meticulously tuned so that every component serves a single purpose: to make performance effortless.”

However, Genesis introduced more than just the concept GT.

Alongside the GT, they also unveiled the GV60 Magma, the first production model of the Magma lineup.

Based on the electric GV60, the Magma featured upgrades that boosts performance.

Dual high-output motors, stiffer suspension tuning, and performance brakes made the car faster and sportier, fitting into the magma lineup.

The design of the GV60 Magma draws heavily from the GT concept, featuring bolder lines, deeper front intakes, wider fenders, and the signature orange Magma accents.

The GV60 Magma embodies the Magma philosophy to life so that the drivers can feel and enjoy high performance on regular roads.

Genesis plans to expand the Magma lineup beyond the GT and GV60.

They are planning for more performance cars across its sedan and SUV ranges, which will be  designed to carry the Magma DNA.

From sportier sedans to high-performance SUVs, Genesis aims to create a full family of Magma vehicles that offers customers luxury, innovation, and performance.

The launch of the Magma GT and the GV60 Magma underscores Genesis’s commitment to innovation and long-term vision for the future.

By combining precise engineering, driver-focused dynamics, and an engaging design, Genesis will be competing with other performance car brands like BMW M and Mercedes-AMG.

The Magma lineup marks a new era for Genesis and for Korean automakers where Korean cars are not just recognized for efficiency and reliability, but for performance, excitement, and leadership in the high-performance segment.
