The Toronto Blue Jays, a baseball team based in Ontario, Canada, has made its way to the World Series for the first time since 1993.

The Toronto Blue Jays is the only Canadian team in MLB, founded in 1977.

The team colours are royal blue, navy blue, white and red, and their mascot is a blue jay named  “Ace”.

The team  features major players  such as Vladimir Guerrero Jr., George Springer, and Alehandro Kirk.

On October 8th,  the Blue Jays won game 4 beating the New York Yankees 5-2 in 9 years, being announced as the winners of the American League Champion Series.

October was a  celebration for the Blue Jays fans, from defeating the New York Yankees to returning to the world series. 

The streets of Toronto have  transitioned from costume parties to supporting the Blue Jays.

In 2024, the Blue Jays finished its  season at 74-88, losing eight of their nine games in September. 

Consequently, they placed fifth in the American League East.

In the post season, fans were upset by the lack of standout plays, pointing to  reasons such as the sudden change of players and the urge to improve batting consistency. 

So far, the Blue Jays have been showing an impressive performance for this season, demonstrating great teamwork and potent plays from major players such as Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and George Springer.

Currently, the Blue Jays and LA Dodgers are battling for their last gateway as the winners of the world series. 

In 2025, the LA Dodgers won against the Milwaukee Brewers by 5-1, imposingly proving their dominance in baseball. 

This marked their sixteenth time winning the National League Champion  Series. 

The LA Dodgers have won the World Series seven times, most recently in 2020. 

Meanwhile, the Toronto Blue Jays last appeared and won the World Series in 1993.

In recent years, the Dodgers have been regarded as one of the strongest teams in Major League Baseball.

Their roster boasts iconic players such as Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, and Will Smith.

Shohei Ohtani’s signing is known as one of the biggest signings in baseball, signing a $700 million contract. 

The Blue Jays are scheduled to have their final game against the LA Dodgers on November 1, 2025 back home in Toronto, deciding who would capture the victory.

Game 6 was held on October 31, 2025, with  the LA Dodgers winning by the score of 3-1. 

The series is tied up at 3-3.

Canadian fans are rooting for the Blue Jays to win the championship while the LA Dodgers are deeply rooted by people from California. 

A team taking home the trophy would significantly benefit them financially, as they receive the highest percentage of the playoff gate receipts.

The fact that the Blue Jays made it to the World Series has stirred up excitement in the hearts of Canadian fans. 

However, the series is now tied, increasing pressure more than ever.

With every game, hope is built among the fans for the possibility of the Blue Jays being able to secure their first championship in 32 years.
