After two months of conflict, Donald Trump finally declared that the US and Iran would negotiate for some peace in the war but recently the peace talks fell through due to failure to establish meeting times on April 25th.
United States President Donald Trump announced that his army would not be traveling to Pakistan for talks with Iran since Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi left the country.
Iran and the United States were scheduled to meet on April 25 Saturday, but Trump rejected the offer after thinking for two days until his decision was final that the trip would end.
However, Trump was quoted, “I just canceled the trip of my representatives going to Islamabad, Pakistan, to meet with the Iranians. Besides too much time wasted on traveling, too much work!”
He continued, “Besides which, there is tremendous infighting and confusion within their “leadership” ; nobody knows who is in charge, including them. Also we have all the cards, they have none! If they want to talk, all they can do is call! ”
Trump added, “I don't feel like sending my soldiers to a 18 hour flight to talk about nothing”
Araghichi previously said he left Islamabad for Oman on Saturday after a productive visit, though he did not meet with any US negotiators in the Pakistan capital.
Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has said Tehran will not enter into “forced negotiations” with the United States while facing pressure and threats, according to Iran’s state broadcaster, Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting.
The White House had stated that the Iranians "want to talk" when the trip was announced on Friday, but Iran said there were no plans for a direct meeting.
Trump affirmed that the pause in fighting would continue on Saturday despite hopes of another round of face-to-face talks fading.
When asked whether the cancelled fruitful visit meant the war would resume, he told news site Axios: "No, it doesn't mean that. We haven't thought about it yet."
But according to Donald Trump, he stated that the reason he started the war in the first place was because he believed that Iran's people were working on a nuclear weapon.
Trump then said that he would be invading a new country after he quoted “ I doubt that we will go to war this year but there could be some severe changes”.
However, Trump said that he already killed the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei who was killed by a missile on the national security offices on February 28th, 2026.
For the first few days, the leaders of Iran didn't believe he died and believed he was hiding somewhere but later the Iraqis said that he officially passed away.
According to the Iran Republic News Agency (IRNA), Abbas Araghchi will return to Pakistan.
However, there is no evidence that he will come back to Pakistan, but IRNA claimed that he might come after investigating the state media reports.
In conclusion, while both countries are working on finding a resolution that appeases both sides, tensions remain.
